Heartfelt Sentiments Team Paper Packet Focus

Ivy Lane

Welcome to our team blog hop! If you've come from Judy Faye's blog you're on the right track! I hope you like what I've created with the Ivy Lane paper and will check back often to see what I've been up to!

This paper is so pretty! So, pretty that I thought it was deserving of my beautiful granddaughter's pictures. I chose a layout in Studio J and added to it by layering more of the patterned paper at the bottom of both pages. I did this by creating a text box with no text just paper. I changed the main photo to sepia so it didn't compete with the colors. I chose to leave the other pictures in color because her pink dress looked good with the colors of Ivy Lane.

I added a border to the left page.
Here's the border I created!

From this

And, here's where I found it!

Now, if you go to Studio J and try to find that border you won't be able to find it. Here's how the scroll border was added. I looked through the Stickease to find a design I liked. I turned it 90 degrees and cropped off all the parts I didn't want. Then, I copied and pasted it 3 times to fit across the area. It wasn't quite long enough to go to the end without having a partial piece so, I increased the scale of all 4 pieces until they fit. I think it was at 110 instead of 100. It just takes a little trial and error to get it just right!

Once you're finished checking out my creation, hop on over to Melissa's blog to see what she's made with the Ivy Lane paper!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll visit again!

Studio J is a Fabulous Way to Scrapbook!

I just have to say that Studio J is a truly fabulous, quick and easy way to scrapbook. I can't think of anybody who has enough time to enjoy their family and keep up with getting all those pictures scrapbooked. Why not give Studio J a try and I think you will quickly see what I'm talking about.

Here's another layout that I was able to create in just a little time. I didn't have to drag out all my paper and other supplies to get these pictures on a layout. I just sat here at my computer & played with virtual paper and embellishments until I got it just the way I wanted.

What do you think?

Leave a comment to let me know what you think!

And, don't forget...tomorrow's the last day of the special!

Cruise Life

I've been busy scrapping the pictures from our cruise in January. I just love how getting them on a layout make them so much more meaningful. Alone they are just pictures but, in a layout they actually tell the story and make me want to go back...soon! I also love that it's so easy to get the look I want in Studio J. Try it out this month for only $5 a layout! Studio J

A Video To Get You Started On Your Studio Savings

Since there's a great special going on in the month of March for Studio J, I thought I would share a video that shows how easy it is to create a layout in Studio J. To try it out for yourself, go to my website.

Quilling

At a recent team retreat, one of my fellow Close To My Heart Independent Consultants, Mary Collins, gave a demonstration on quilling. I had always been interested in trying it but had never been brave enough to actually complete anything. Well, I was inspired to give it a try since Mary was sitting next to me & could help. Here's a card I made using the techniques she demonstrated.

I'm sure people who know quilling wouldn't think it looks that great but I like the shabby look it has...even the messy stamping with a new, not completely seasoned stamp. There are no mistakes...just opportunities for embellishing & distressing.

Balloon Ride Paper Packet Focus

It's time for the Balloon Ride Blog Hop! If you're coming from Judy Faye's Blog you're on the right track. Look around here to see what I've created with the Balloon Ride paper. I decided that I'd like to create something to hang on the wall. I hopped on to Studio J & whipped out this layout in record time. I plan to frame it in a pretty frame after it's shipped. I haven't ordered it yet because I'm trying to get caught up on some of my scrapbooking. And, what better time to do it than the month of March. Studio J layouts are just $5 this whole, entire month!!! I hope you'll jump on the Studio J train and try it out for yourself! Here's my layout/wallhanging.

I hope you enjoyed what I created. Now, hop on over to Melissa's Blog to see what she created!
